iPad version of Worldview

I am wondering when a hires version of Worldview+ will be available for the iPad? The iPhone version works great on the iPad but a iPad specific app would be great. Scott

I would love to create an iPad version. But I can't say when it will be available, lack of time and also some design issues where I don't have a solution yet are stopping me to start it.
Glad you are enjoying WorldView+ so far!

Please, release The iPad version. You could start with a versino leasing everything as It is in the iphone one but just with larger images.

Hi Marco,
this is one of the biggest issues actually. Far most webcams do not provide bigger images! :(

just a quick update. Most webcams provided by webcams.travel have a maximum resolution of 460x380 pixel, compared to the iPad resolution of 1024x768 pixel those images would look small and horrible when zoomed. Lots of webcams even have smaller native resolutions. So it is not easy to do a proper iPad version without lots of drawbacks and disappointed users, for reasons we cannot solve. But we are working on ways to port the app to the iPad, but the app will most likely work pretty different. Coding hasn't started yet, still designing and finding a good way.

ich nutze WorldView/WV+ schon sehr lange und möchte die App auf dem iPhone nicht mehr missen. Sehnsüchtig warte ich auf eine iPad Version. Deshalb ein paar Überlegungen zu der angesprochenen Problematik der Bildauflösung:
Ausgehend von der iPad Auflösung 1024x768 und einer Aufteilung der App-Benutzeroberfläche in 1/3 Liste der Webcams (ergibt im Querformat ca. 340x768) und 2/3 Nutzfläche für das Webcambild (684x768 Landscape - bzw. 768x340 Liste + 768x684 Bild im Portraitmodus). So bekäme man bequem die gängigen Formate 640x480, 320x240, 160x120 (4:3) und 640x360, 320x180 (16:9), 460x380 (1,21:1) auf der zur Verfügung stehenden Bildfläche sowohl im Quer- als auch im Hochformat unter.
Optimal wäre es, der Nutzer könnte, z.B. in den Programmeinstellungen, wählen, ob er einen festen Bildzoom einer der angegebenen Auflösungen, oder die Originalwebcamauflösung (mit dann automatisch auf maximal mögliche Bildgröße herabskaliertem Zoom) anzeigen möchte.
Auch für eine gleichzeitige anzeige mehrerer Webcams - 2er oder 4er Teilung (z.B. für private Überwachungskameras) bietet die so zur Verfügung stehende Fläche des iPad Displays genügend Raum.
Vielleicht bietet das ja einen gedanklichen Ansatzpunkt für die Gestaltung einer WorldView iPad App.

Neues WorldView+ Update aber leider noch keine iPad-Version. Wie ist denn der aktuelle Stand?

Hallo,
die Entwicklung wird noch einige Zeit dauern. Frühestens mit der Version 3.0 wird das iPad unterstützt werden können, und diese wird wahrscheinlich frühestens im Mai verfügbar sein. Mehr kann ich momentan noch nicht sagen.

an update for everybody. WorldVIew+ 3.0 with iPad support has been sent to Apple yesterday and is now waiting for approval!
